  • This is perhaps the noisiest place in Alexandria to live. It's like living in a war zone. It's not the noise between apartments (virtually non-existent), it's the noise from outside in the form of: Sirens (of all types - fire, police, EMS), helicopters, maintenance vehicles (which are the biggest problem). The maintenance personnel who happen to be part of the noise problem as well during their 8am get together, drive this beat up, old John Deer, six wheeled contraption and the brakes on it are "shot". They drive everywhere in this thing and it makes noise all over the complex. It sounds like a wounded elephant. Then there are the golf carts that the maintenance personnel like to leave in the reverse position while they chit chat about god knows what and all you hear is this incessant shrill! Whaetever you do, don't live on the west side of building 1462. This is where the noise is most concentrated. I have lived there for just over a year now and I have put up w/re-roofing noise, re-siding noise along w/the noises mentioned earlier. Then there are the land scapers. There is hardly any grass in this area, yet, every tuesday and wednesday they are out there w/their mowers and leaf blowers from 8am to noon. ARE YOU KIDDING? Then there are the idiots who like to drive the moving trucks back and forth past 10pm. To trump them are the morons who wash their cars at midnight. There's the guy who treats the garage and his outdated SUV as an auto hobby shop and finally there are the adult Army guys who drive gas operated toy cars up and down and up and down the parking lots. Look, I'm not extra sensitive to noise, I'm just letting you in on the truth. I don't recommend living here.
