Pelican Cove (Green, Ohio)

This is what used to be Pelican Cove. In this satellite photo, all that is left is the beach where the volleyball court was, and the parking lot. The building was razed.

The Pelican Cove was a bar/night club set in a residential middle class neighborhood. Under its most recent ownership as a bar, the Pelican Cove used to advertise on rap music radio stations in Cleveland and Akron and brought many "undesireables" into the area, not to mention the loud music which went on until 2am. The bar went out of business and the community quickly rezoned the area for residential so that another bar may never again set up shop in that location. Since then, a number of condos have been built on this site and the immediate surrounding area. The road has also widened to 4 lanes and when redoing the bridge it was at (or near) this location that a murdered baby was found in a garbage bag buried for years.
