Detrital Wash--Chris Mccandless camped here and his car was floodedAccording to Jon Krakauer's book Into the Wild, Chris McCandless camped illegally here in the Detrital Wash for several days, and was forced to abandon his car when the wash flooded after a rain storm. The car was eventually discovered by Park Rangers and used for drug busts. The only thing wrong with it was a dead battery.
