The station is the first of 3 pumping stations in Syria (T1 is on Iraqi soil) that pump crude oil (from Syria & Iraq) through a network of pipelines to the oil-tanker terminals at the Mediterranean coast of Syria.
It has GEC EM85 gas turbine driven pumps.
