The Institute Benjamin Constant (IBC) is a traditional educational institution for the blind located in the city and state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Regarded as the first concrete step in the country to ensure the blind the right to citizenship, the Institute was little by little tearing down prejudices and pointed out that education and professional training of people with this defiencies was not utopia.

Currently, the Institute Benjamin Constant has resized their goals, becoming a reference center, the national level, on matters relating to visual impairment. Besides the school, trains professionals in the visual impairment, advises schools and institutions in general and provides physical rehabilitation.
