Former Forward Operating Base Kalsu (FOB Kalsu or COS Kalsu or Camp Kalsu). The base was established by the U.S. Military troops after invasion of Iraq in March 2003.

Since December 2011, COS Kalsu was officially transferred to the Iraqi Army, later becoming one of deployment garrisoning for the "Hashd ash-Shaabi" paramilitary forces created during the war against "Daesh" terrorist organization, while maintaining the same name in common use.
