Bay Model Visitors Center (Sausalito, California)

USA / California / Sausalito / Sausalito, California / Bridgeway, 2100
museum, interesting place, scientific research institute / centre

Working model of the San Francisco Bay, used to simulate tides and marine hydraulic phenomena. Operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers, this model is now obsolete (replaced by software) but it is still functional as a museum. It is a huge scale model. Open to tourists and visitors, it is worth a visit - very interesting. And it's free, too.
