Side's anachronistic garbage dump : the shame of Side municipality

Side municipality is still storing garbage instead of recycling it as it was a century ago. Irreversible damage is being done to nature. The water containing heavy metals and chemicals leaking from the garbage dump mixes with the groundwater. In windy weather, the garbage flies around and is scattered. In addition, it is unbearable due to its smell and creates visual pollution. This outdated appearance does not suit Side, a tourist resort. Moreover, the European Union provides grants to local governments to build their own recycling facilities. Despite this, Side municipality still stores its garbage with the old system.
