Cheshmeh Ali (Tehran)

Iran / Teheran / Tehran

A spring with some old carvings from the Sassanid era before advent of Islam. In the very area, there is a stony mound over which is a ramins of an adobe/muddy wall dubbed "11 thousands Great Wall of Rey",which was a fortress or a palace .
It used to be a resort area for Sassanid Kings some 1400 years ago/about 600 A.D.
As name implies , I mean "11 thousand Years Great Wall",it is a subject to some 11 thousand years ago.Beside the spring there is carving on the wall at the very side of mouth of the spring which depicts some slaves knelling in front of a king which is said is a Sassanid king.As far as I know some say: this was created by the fiat of a Qajar king possibly Mozafar-ad-in Shah or NAser-ad-in Shah or exactly a carving done by Sassanid monarchs.Presently, this historic place has been renovated by Heritage Organization.
