Dingwall is an historical community of approximately 600 residents located in northwestern Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, north of Ingonish. It is widely believed to have been the first settlement of the famous explorer Giovanni Caboto (John Cabot), and nearby, the event is commemorated by the Cabot's Landing Historic Site & Provincial Park.

Dingwall has traditionally been a fishing community, which remains the town's primary industry, along with tourism. Dingwall is also home to a resort called the Markland Coastal Resort, which is a popular tourist destination during the summer months.
