The Crisis Care Program at Woodburn Place provides an alternative to hospitalization for adult consumers who are experiencing psychiatric crisis. The program provides an empathic, structured, supportive environment with 24-hour counseling support to help individuals gain the stability and emotional strength to move into a more independent living arrangement or return home and resume their previous lifestyle. This unique program offers a variety of clinical services emphasizing wellness and recovery from mental illness, including: assessment and referral, medication support, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, case management and discharge planning. The average length of stay is about 10 days, although licensure as a crisis stabilization program permits stays up to 21 days. This program is available for use by consumers from Fairfax, Arlington, Prince William and Loudoun counties, as well as the Cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church.
