At 165,816 square feet, the Knoxville Utilities Board's (KUB's) Miller's Building is a 7-story structure (with a basement) that houses both KUB and its tenant, ImagePoint. Originally built in 1905 as a downtown department store for Millers Bros., it attracted shoppers from all over East Tennessee until the store closed in the early 1970s. It was even mentioned in several pieces of important American literature, such as James Agee's A Death in the Family. After falling into disrepair, the building was renovated in 2000 by KUB and the city of Knoxville. The renovation preserved the striking historic character of the building while creating a modern office work environment.
