  • Bentaël Nature Reserve lies at longitude 36°41’ East and Latitude 34°09’ north. The reserve is situated at c.7 km north-east of Jbeil/Byblos coastal town, its overall area is 108 ha of almost woodland habitats. It extends from 250 to 800 meters on the western Slopes of Mount-Lebanon.
  • Bentaël Nature Reserve is of sub-humid Mediterranean climate, with the rainy season ranging from November through march and virtually rainless summers (from may through august). The mean precipitation is c. 1100 mm/year and the mean annual temperature is 17 degrees Celsius, with peak temperature around 34°C (average of the hottest month in the year) and 0.4°C(average of the coldest month in the year). Bentaël Nature Reserve rarely knows freezing temperatures or snow falling. Prevailing wind is from the west and south-west.
