An historic artifact museum located in Roslyn, Washington. Celebration Roslyn's coal mining heritage, the museum possesses an extensive collection of coal mining items from 1886 to 1963 when the coal mines closed. Also featured is a collection of ethnic items from Roslyn's diverse, melting-pot history.
The Roslyn Historical Museum Society, which governs the museum, was founded on July 28, 1961. Built in 1969 and paid for from sales of a local history book titled "Spawn of Coal Dust", the museum opened in 1970. Today it continues to receive revenue from sales of the book, as well as museum merchandise and private donations.
