A small village in Murhidabad, Hindu (mostly Mahishya) and Muslims are living together peacefully, Highly educated families are there. Late Santosh Biswas, his sons, daughters, son-in-laws, daughter-in-laws and grandsons are most literate ones in the village. The village has a high school (Swarandidu Shriti H.S. School), a primary school, two temples and two Masjids. Weakly Market (hat) on wednesday at Bilerdhar is very famous in the region.
