Medieval town of Kovin built on the left bank of the Danube was the fort on the packed-bed artificial hill, and at the time it was very important to defend the southern border of Hungary State.

The remains of the fort was enrolled in 1995. as a cultural monument of great importance to the Republic of Serbia.
