Frenchmen Tower (Leimen (Baden))

Germany / Baden-Wurttemberg / Leimen / Leimen (Baden)
 military, interesting place

The Frenchmen Tower was part of the mediaeval city wall. Leimen was seized in the year 1689, during the Palatine war of succession. It was completely destroyed and from the fortification are -nowadays- only some meters left.
It is said, that during the siege by French troops a lady-love of a French soldier let the aggressor into the village.
