Fernbridge, California

The main point of Fernbridge's existence is the Ferndale Highway's bridge over the Eel River, which was built in 1911, when cars were smaller, slower, much fewer, and no one really cared whether the bridge was really wide enough for two cars to pass each other or whether a strong gust of wind might blow a light-weight car off the bridge and into the drink. However, there are a couple of restaurants, a card-lock station, a leather shop, a general store, and a seasonal Fresh Produce stand.
