(Advanced Chemical Park) USAAF Station 572.

This site, now renamed Riseley, consisted of an extensive concreted area in Coppice Wood as well as the bulk Forward Filling Depot. The wood stored some 9,000 tanks, each containing 55 gallons of Y3 mustard under pressure. The primary unit based at Melchbourne Park was the 2003rd Ordnance Maintainance Company. The mustard gas was used to fill both the standard 65lb LC bomb, plus the M33 spray tank.(Which was purely an AAF weapon.)
