The American Fur Company Storewas an important center of the Mackinac Island community in the 1820s and '30s when the island was the center of the North American fur trade. This store was visited by French voyageurs, fur traders, and islanders to trade stories and purchase items from china to foodways to shoes. The building is open mid-June to late August.
