Notre-Dame-de-la-Fidelite Abbey, also known as Abbaye de Jouques, was founded in 1967, as Nuns in the Benedictine Order.they are,'Monasterium Monialium extra Instituta', meaning they are directly under the Holy See and not part of a Congregation.
They are known for a traditional observance , and their Gregorian Chant.
Abbey is built in typical provencal style, and is still an active religious community. The abbey's shop sells jams, pain d'epice (ginger bread) as well as tapenade and eggplant "caviar" , and lavender ,all produced on site.
