abandoned / shut down, 1874_construction, historic ruins

The building of the Kiev architect V. Nikolayev was erected in 1874. First there was a hotel in which there was an outstanding artist Mikhail Vrubel, famous actor Panas Saksagansky and hetman Pavel Skoropadsky. Historians say that here there were political negotiations that changed the history of Ukraine. During World War II, the house was part of a single block that stood up during the bombing of Kiev. Then they opened the Central Deli, and then the house was closed for renovation, leaving several shops on the first floor.
