condominium, interesting place
205-foot, 17-story Art-Deco/Art-Moderne residential building completed in 1928. Designed by Henry C. Pelton, it was originally known as the Christadora Settlement House with funding provided by Arthur C. James. It is believed George Gershwin gave his first public recital here in a concert hall on the third floor.
The building was converted to condominiums in 1986 and has 85 residences.
