Grade 6-8 school in the Pittsburgh Public Schools district. It is named for Art Rooney Sr., founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team. In the building's former life as the Odd Fellows Widow's & Orphan's Home, Mr. Rooney would often bring some of his players to visit the orphans.

  • Sir / Madame, As a neighbor of Rooney Middle School I am pleading the School Board to please address the 50 ft. trees on the property adjacent to Herzog Street side of Rooney School. The city of Pittsburgh today removed 4 trees due to age and the fact that when heavy winds come the trees are beginning to snap and limps are falling on our properties. There are weeds that are so large the hang from the schools property across the entire road to a neighbors garage. I know that no one at the school can see past the trees but we in the neighborhood are fearful of property damage from the emence size and age of the trees and the damage to our homes.
