Shingle Springs (formerly, Shingle Spring and Shingle) is a census-designated place (CDP) in El Dorado County, California, United States. The population was 4,432 at the 2010 census. It is located about 40 miles from Sacramento in the historic Gold Country foothills and sits directly on Highway 50. The historic towns of Coloma and Placerville are less than 15 miles away.
