The school first opened at the Portable Annex on Pines Boulevard and 172nd Avenue. They didn't move into this building until November 1, 2003. The first day of classes in this campus was November 3, 2003.

The construction company (SBR Joint Venture) was having disputes with the School Board, which led to the slowing of construction of the school and the delayed opening. The original move-in date for the school was in September, but it was continuously pushed back, until November.

Administration is the small, square building. This is building 1 (all 100s).

The big and long building in the back is Building 2. This has all the electives (all 200s). From this angle, you can see the portrusions of the Gymnasium and the Auditorium/Stage.
When the school finally moved into the building, Building 2 wasn't finished at all. The only room open was the cafeteria (Room 225). In March, 2004, the gymnasium area (the 230s and 240s) and the arts area (Rooms 201, 202, and 209 are all art rooms. Rooms 210 and 211 are music rooms) opened, along with the tech labs (Rooms 220, 221, and 223). However, the auditorium (Rooms 212-218) remained closed. The auditorium didn't open until the beginning of the next school year, which started on August 8, 2005.

The "T" shaped building is Building 3, and has all the classrooms (300s and 400s), and the guidance office.

The greenhouse (room 499) is behind Building 2. This is building 4. Since Hurricane Wilma in 2005, The greenhouse has been mainly used for storage for football equipment, grills (the ones that you cook on, mind you).

The 500s are the portables. They didn't open until the beginning of the 2005-06 school year, and are located at the front of the school, in that triangle of grass (if you were looking at it from the air, it would be pointing directly at the intersection of SW 172nd Avenue and 48th court, the latter known by the locals as "Bass Creek Road").

Eastern Financial Stadium (nicknamed "The Swamp") was completed in early 2005.

The Everglades Gator Football Team went undefeated in the regular season in 2005 (the season was abbrieviated because of Hurricane Wilma). They managed to defeat Miami Carol City High School in the first round of the division 6-A playoffs, but they fell to Deerfield Beach High School in overtime, knocking them out of the playoffs in the second round.
