Small oolitic limestone∞ stone mine. Its unique feature is that it is on two levels (one above the other) connected by stone stairs with a slide to the lower level. Brewers Yard Corsham on the main A4 road in the trees with the water tower just up hill from Copenacre heading towards Box. An interesting yet strange little mine with a huge shaft right down the middle, a smaller one to just level 1 capped and a much smaller shaft near the slippery slope. Hand line required for access. Worked around 1880. Darkplaces have installed some metal work to try and make the access incline safer, protecting the bottom hole from falling rocks and supporting the rail halfway up the incline which is holding a lot of material.
