A nice, quiet area with a lot of friendly people. Just off of the beaten path, it avoids most of the tourist traffic that the Pacific Coast brings. Gentle beaches with an ocean that is perhaps a bit too cold for casual swimmers. Sitting at the foot of Neahkahnie Mountain, means hiking is also available with spectacular views of the coast and Neahkahnie Bay. Fishing and boat rentals are close on the Nehalem River, with more of the same in Tillamook Bay to the south. Lots of tourist shopping opportunities for those special gifts. Just a very pleasant place to visit or stay.
