Greaves Hall Estate, was the land surrounded by and Owned by the house at the centre of the Estate "Greaves Hall". The house was built as a stately home and later became an all Girls School "Sherbrook" and after World War II became a TB hospital and later a Mental institution with the Greaves Hall Hospital being built on the Estate. The Hospital was shut in 1992 following the closure of most of the Mental Institutions in the UK by the Government. Since then the Mansion house has been vandalised and many of the hospital buildings demolished and replaced with two housing estates in three phases by Redrow Homes.
