Minyan Orchomenos (Orchomenos)

The Bronze-Age settlement of Orchomenos (Minyan Orchomenos) was located at the easternmost edge of the ridge which at the time jutted into the now drained Lake Kopais. The Classical city extended farther west, its Hellenistic successor even father, as far as the Macedonian fortress. Simultaneously, parts of the old Minyan city continued to be used, for example as the site of the city's theater.
