One of the original California missions. Unlike the nearby La Purissima mission, this one is still operated by the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles as an active parish, and Masses are offered on Sundays. This beautiful old Spanish mission has a very nice museum and self-guided tour. It is one of the locations used in the movie "Sideways". The mission is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), where it is designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark District.
