This has been officially deemed a toxic waste site.

This shooting range used to be part of the Agua Sierra Sporting Club partially owned by Roy Rodgers.
Photo dated 1955 shows five ranges or firing lines, and an observation / range control tower.
Although more than 40 years have passed since the last clay pigeon was fired upon, enough lead shotgun pellets and clay pigeon paint remains on and in the ground all over the shooting range area that almost all of Chatsworth Park South has been closed to the public since early 2008.
The Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation has no plans for re-opening the park anytime soon.
