Also known as "The Curve of Maarssen" (the curve in the river Vecht)
It has three parts called Opbuuren-dorp (Opbuuren-village), Opbuuren-Buiten (Opbuuren-Outdoors) and Opbuuren-Park (Opbuuren-park)
The intention is to make a new village-like neighborhood with modern techniques but with a typical Vecht-region look and feel. (also called the Vecht-vision)
The design is derived from the building styles from the 17th until the very early 20th century.
The name Opbuuren is derived from a so called "Buitenplaats" that once was build on this location.
