One of the FLORAKO airdefence command control & communication units. Built inside Pilatus mountain. The outer visible structures are radar, communication antennas and the units own missile airdefense covered by domes.
FLORAKO is operated by Swiss Air Force and comprises master surveillance radars, a data communications system, an air picture generating and airspace management system and an air command & control center.
Troughout the country are several military radarstations; check the summits of Pilatus, Scopi and Weisshorn mountains.
In peacetime one or more of these are always operational on a 24/7 basis.
