High Point is a 253-acre site located between Reese Road and Wright Road in Alden Township. Notably, the High Point Conservation Area contains the highest glaciated point above sea level in McHenry County. Improvements tot he site will include 3.8 miles of looped nature trails will provide hikers with scenic viewing and wildlife observation, as well as interpretive and educational opportunities. One section of the trail will be elevated boardwalk where it crosses wetlands. Parking lot, restrooms, picnic tables, and drinking water will also be part of the improvements. The entrance to the site will be off of Reese Road.
