Syracuse, NY June 4, 2009 – Disaster strikes when least expected so the Radio Amateurs of Greater Syracuse “hams” will erect an emergency communications village on Sentinel Heights south of Syracuse on Saturday, June 27. Operating multiple emergency radio stations, hams of all ages will be contacting thousands of other participating hams nationwide in this annual disaster preparedness drill. The club invites the public to come and experience this family event with hands-on live demonstrations and see the fun and importance of ham radio to our community. You might even be inspired to get your own license and participate in future events.
