When the railway bypassed this town, the townsfolk picked up all the buildings and dragged them over here to be on the railway. Unusual town for British Columbia because it primarily surrounds the surrounding farming community. Most BC towns are linked to forestry but by an accident of geography, this area has large tracts of flat land which grow wheat and other field crops.
