  • Thrissur Railway Station (variant spelling: Thrissivaperur Railway Station) is one of the main railway stations in Kerala. It is the halting point of all express trains. The station is connected to the major towns of the country. It is located in the heart of the town. Vadakkunnathan Temple, the venue of the famous Thrissur Pooram, is at a short distance from the station. Thrissur station is the boarding point for pilgrims visiting the Sri Guruvayoorappan Temple at Guruvayoor. The KSRTC Bus Station is a few minutes walk from the station. The two private bus stations in the town can be reached by an auto-rickshaw. There are direct buses to Palani, Madurai, Bangalore, Mysore, Erode, and Chennai from Thrissur. Nearest airport is at Kochi, about 65 km from the Railway Station.
