On this location was at the end of the Second World War a factory to make fuel out of stone-oil. The factory was a satellite camp of the concentration camp Natzweiler-Struthof, just like other factories and quarries in this area. Here, the inmates had to work under extreme heavy conditions.

Nowadays the remains of the factory are a remembrance place to commemorate the victims.
