The Empangeni Country Club was formed in the early 1900's. The original 18 hole Golf Course was laid out and maintained by predominately farmer members. Situated in beautiful surroundings with magnificent panoramic views of Richards Bay and the Indian Ocean.
The Empangeni Country Club is a superior venue offering a multitude of excellent facilities and services such as an 18 hole golf course, squash courts, and bowling greens. It has 3 conference venues, a fully air-conditioned function hall (which can seat up to 100 guests banqueting style), 5 comfortable en-suite bedrooms (offering accommodation for up to 10 guests), a fully equipped kitchen and pub offering scrumptious breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
The Empangeni Golf Course:
Holes – 18
Par – 72
Length - Men 5,983m & Ladies 5,183m
Pro Shop – with clubs / carts for hire
The fairways consist mainly of the local indigenous Nkwaleni grass with the greens having a mixture of Country Club and Cynoden grasses. Water for the course comes mainly from a storage dam (situated between the 2nd and 3rd fairways) and a borehole. The tee boxes and greens receive most of this water and the fairways rely on natural rainfall.
