Hammerton's Ferry is a historic pedestrian and cycle ferry service operating across the River Thames in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Established in 1909 by Walter Hammerton, the ferry connects the northern bank near Marble Hill House in Twickenham to the southern bank near Ham House in Ham. It remains one of the few ferry routes in London that hasn't been replaced by a bridge or tunnel.

The ferry service has been family-run since its inception. Currently, it is owned by Francis Spencer and operated by Andrew Spencer. The ferry, named "Peace of Mind," was designed and built in 1997. In addition to the ferry service, the operators offer rowing boat hires, allowing visitors to explore the Thames at their leisure.

As of now, Hammerton's Ferry operates on weekends only, from 10 am until dusk. The service is currently closed but is scheduled to reopen on December 1st for weekend operations. For the most up-to-date information on operating hours and services, it's advisable to check their official website or social media pages before planning a visit.

The ferry provides a convenient and scenic route for pedestrians and cyclists, linking two historic sites and offering a unique perspective of the River Thames. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor, a trip on Hammerton's Ferry offers a charming experience steeped in over a century of tradition.
