One of the first, and still one of the best, centers of South Beach Cool. Starting with the billowing-curtained front porch, the Philippe Starck-designed lobby is beautiful and serene, the furnishings providing giddily disorienting plays of scale.
The Rose Bar mixes a first-rate drink, and the lobby's communal sushi table always has an engaging mix of people.
The lawn/pool/cabana area has a giant chess set, a table and chairs standing in the shallow end of the pool, and provides occasional glimpses of celebrities necking and groping behind blindingly white cabana curtains.
