Following the founding of the University of Leuven in 1425 from the 15th century, several colleges were spread over the city, they were founded initially intended to secure accommodation and living expenses of needy students.
Most colleges were organized as a monastic community, and was basically not taught, but the focus was on whether or not supervised study. They often had a private chapel and library.
The buildings were rented to Miss Paridaens already on July 12, 1812 as girls boarding school, since than it is called Paridaens-instituut
