Chornobyl sarcophagus

This is also known as Object "Shelter".

Constructed between May and November 1986, the sarcophagus is only considered good for 20 or 30 years. It is not considered air-tight and has several large openings in it. Most of the pieces were pre-fabricated and then brought on site for fast assembly.

  • I guess....how that smokestack didn't fall? I used to have an old april 26 1986 newspaper depicting the reactor 4 gaping hole, and half of the chimney was suspended on nothing
