Kong Meng Restaurant is an ordinary Chinese hawker restaurant located in Ipoh Old Town. Inside the restaurant, there is a stall which is specialize in selling Kong Meng Beef Noodle. It was founded by Mr. Kong Meng which started the business since more than 70 years ago, and now, he has transferred the ownership to his daughter. The restaurant has already gone through the third generation owner, through his grandson, and it has witnessed the development of Ipoh city as well.

While talking about Kong Meng Beef Noodle, the success for more than half century does not depends on luck, but a lot of hard work and commitment. Everyday around 3:00am early in the morning, while most people are still sleeping soundly in their bed, this family will need to wake up to prepare the ingredient. According to the owner, the beef soup need around 5 hours to cook in order to produce such heavy fragrance, sweet to drink soup with delicious and chewy beef.

Although nowadays, many noodle stall in Ipoh are actually selling manufactured Yong Dau Fu, Kong Meng Restaurant still persist with handmade method. The only reason why they want to do so many works is just to let their customer feel the sincerity from the food. It is same like the dining environment, which is the old style British coffee shop that able to bring familiarity, friendly feeling and gain trust to people who dine in before and most probably will also keep on coming again and again, just because the memories of a bowl of heat fragrance beef soup as well as the friendly service of the owner with his sincerity in the food.
