Height is 69 meters. In the early 60's it was discovered that atmospheric concentrations of Thoron (Radon 220, a decay product of thorium) as measured at Port aux Francais were higher when the wind was coming from the northwest-northeast sector. Mt. Bungay and Montagnes Vertes (which is to the NW of Port aux Francais) were two of the sites investigated as possible sources.
