Constructed in 1963 to house 88 men, North Hall was renamed in 1983 to honor Mr. E. O. Robinson and the E. O. Robinson Mountain Fund for their support of the institute and the students from Southeastern Kentucky. West Hall was completed in 1965 and provides housing for an additional 175 men. Both Halls are divided into sections with each section containing a common hallway with shower and toilet facilities. Along each side of the hallway are two rooms, one slightly smaller than the other. Two or three men are housed in the smaller rooms and three or four in the larger. Since the summer of 1997, North and West Hall has seen major changes. A new lobby, weight room and sauna have been added.
