Norma Talmadge Beach House

The house was built by silent screen star Norma Talmadge in 1929. Norman-style home designed by architect Paul Roe Crawley c. Sold to Cary Grant in 1939. He and Randolph Scott resided in the home until Cary's marriage to Woolworth heiress, Barbara Hutton in 1942. Scott sold the house in 1946. Other famous occupants were Howard Hughes, Irving Berlin and Grace Kelly.

1038 Palisades Beach Rd was also home to Merle Oberon from the mid 1930s to 1939. Also, David Niven lived here with Merle for a time when they were an item in the 1930s. Merle was residing here when she filmed "Wuthering Heights" between December 1938-March 1939.
