This is a proposed logging project by the McKenzie District, Willamette National Forest, in which they will heavily thin mature and old growth forest for the alleged purpose of providing forage for elk, but notice that there are already a lot of nearby clearcuts and thinned forests where the elk can browse, but not much in the way of intact mature habitat for the spotted owl and myriad other species that depend on intact older forests.
