El Banquito (literally, small bench) owes its name to the characteristic rock formations at its beach which -with a little use of imagination- recreate a small bench. Kilometers of unspoiled, uncrowded beaches, sometimes with strong waves sometimes with the tranquility of a swimming pool dotted with underwater rock formations that create natural swimming pools that shelter swimmers from the changing moods of the crispy blue/turquoise sea. Full of wildlife which prospers protected by its extreme isolation. Foxes, deer, monkeys, small wild cats, big wild cats, wonder the deeply knitted forest allowing visitors to get –on a regular basis- casual glimpses of an unspoiled world.
